My husband and I did the acro date night for my husbands birthday! It was a lot of fun and I was amazed how much we got to learn in a short time for a complete beginner. I would love to go back and try some more classes. The instructors were really good at adapting to both my husband and my learning styles.

Chris and Katrina are the best! Feel so lucky to have such dedicated and talented teachers in Austin. They are always so kind and patient, and strive to have a deep understanding of acro and the art of teaching. My husband and I did a couples class (date night) to celebrate our 6 year anniversary. The instructors were nothing short of amazing! We felt welcomed and calmed as soon as we arrived and had an amazing time! I really appreciate the bonding they also incorporate towards the end with my partner and I. We added on “meditation” into our experience and I think it was a good choice for us for the end. I want to do it again! Highly recommend. :)

My high school aged daughter has been taking lessons with Empowered Acro for a few months and absolutely loves it. Katrina and Chris are fantastic instructors and lovely people! They are extremely knowledgeable and passionate about acro and sharing the art with others! In only one session, my boyfriend and I learned multiple postures and were given the opportunity to both fly and base. We were sore (in a good way) the next day having used new muscles! We’re excited to go back and highly recommend learning from the Empowered Yoga Team!

I registered for a Valentine’s Day couple acro yoga class, but my boyfriend broke up with me days before the class. I wrote them explaining my situation and they offered me a full refund and wrote a very sweet note. Was super impressed with their customer service!

Our history

Empowered Acro founders Katrina Repman and Chris Cox met in 2013 through the acro scene in Austin, Texas. The pair connected quickly over their shared passion for graceful movement, genuine connection, and coordinating outfits. They spent the following years training under globally renowned acro instructors and teaching acro at festivals around the United States. In 2017, they opened Empowered Acro and became founding members of their community’s 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization (Austin Acro Advocates). EA quickly grew to a team of over 25 instructors teaching 1,000 students each year. In 2020, EA switched gears and began developing their private lesson and date night offerings. Today, Empowered Acro’s team of experienced instructors lead public classes for adults, private lessons for individuals, pairs, trios, groups, and families, and a unique date night experience for romantic partners.
